Immigration Attorney - USCIS
The United Firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join their team in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Associate Attorney to gain valuable experience and further their career within a premier law firm. As the USCIS Attorney, you will report to the Managing Immigration Attorney and collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.
In this position, you will develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony. You will represent both non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals. Managing a caseload, conducting intakes with detained individuals, and preparing diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions, will be key aspects of your role. Additionally, you will review immigration applications, collaborate with law enforcement and community organizations on changes in immigration law, and provide legal analysis to clients.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in Immigration Law. A team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with fellow associates is essential. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal skills, a proven track record of advancing legal cases, and experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications are important. Familiarity with Case Management Software is also preferred.
