Immigration Attorney
The United Firm is seeking an Immigration Attorney to join their dynamic team in Oakland, California. This role offers a flexible, appointment-based contract engagement, allowing attorneys to manage their own schedules while representing clients in immigration court proceedings and USCIS interviews. In this role, the Immigration Attorney will be responsible for appearing in immigration courts for various hearings, including master calendar hearings, bond hearings, and removal proceedings. Additionally, the attorney will accompany clients to USCIS interviews, ensuring thorough preparation and representation. The position offers flexibility, allowing attorneys to select their appearances and manage their schedules within the city or region. Responsibilities also include preparing and reviewing case documents, coordinating with the central team, and providing timely updates on hearing outcomes.
Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and an active bar license in the state of California. Experience with immigration court proceedings or USCIS interviews is essential. The role requires excellent writing and advocacy skills, as well as the ability to manage one's own schedule and communicate effectively with a remote team. Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are a plus. Familiarity with EOIR proceedings, USCIS interviews, and current immigration law updates is also beneficial.
