Hong Kong Summer Vacation Scheme 2027
Clifford Chance, a leading international law firm with over 30 offices worldwide, is offering a four-week Summer Vacation Scheme in Hong Kong for 2027. This program provides aspiring lawyers with an opportunity to gain practical experience by working on live client projects across two different practice areas. Participants will be integrated into the team, treated as full members, and given opportunities to demonstrate their abilities.
Throughout the scheme, participants will be assigned a mentor—an experienced lawyer one or two years ahead—who will assist in settling in and addressing any questions. The program includes training sessions from professionals across the firm, offering insights into the firm's operations. Additionally, there will be numerous opportunities to connect with colleagues through one-on-one sessions and group socials.
Applicants should exhibit ambition, drive, and commitment, along with strong interpersonal skills and commercial awareness. A consistently strong academic record is essential. Proficiency in Mandarin or a Chinese dialect, with the ability to read and write Chinese, is preferable. Candidates should possess a law or combined degree from a university in Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or England, enabling them to begin a Hong Kong training contract upon completion of the Post Graduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL). Applications from non-law graduates who have taken the Graduate Diploma in Law (Common Professional Examination) are also welcome.
The Summer Vacation Scheme is scheduled in two blocks:
- Block One: 31 May – 25 June 2027 / 7 June – 2 July 2027
- Block Two: 28 June – 23 July 2027 / 5 July – 30 July 2027
Applicants can indicate their preferred block within the application form. The application deadline is 6 December 2026, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
