Health Information Specialist - Onsite Eau Claire

Datavant is seeking a Health Information Specialist to join our team in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. This onsite role offers an opportunity to contribute to our mission by managing the release of medical information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

In this position, you will be responsible for processing medical record requests efficiently and accurately. Your daily tasks will include assisting patient walk-ins, answering phones, processing incoming mail and faxed requests, and copying medical records to CDs or flash drives. You will work with electronic medical record systems such as Cerner and HealthShare, ensuring that all releases of information adhere to company policies and HIPAA guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications like Word and Excel. Strong data entry skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment are essential. Professional verbal and written communication skills in English are required. Experience in a healthcare environment, knowledge of HIPAA regulations, and familiarity with electronic health record systems are preferred.
