Head of Cyber Defense & Trust

Gong is seeking a Head of Cyber Defense & Trust to lead the development of its security architecture in an AI-native SaaS environment. This role involves overseeing Cyber Defense Engineering and Identity and Access Management, ensuring these functions are integral to customer trust and product integrity. The position is based in one of Gong's hub locations: San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Austin, New York City Metro, or Chicago.

The successful candidate will design and operate a hyper-automated security operations function across a multi-cloud SaaS environment, utilizing platforms like Google SecOps, Wiz, Sentinel, and CrowdStrike. Responsibilities include architecting security controls for large-scale data pipelines and AI-generated intellectual property, as well as executing an enterprise-wide IAM strategy rooted in Zero Trust principles and passwordless authentication.

Applicants should have 12–15+ years of progressive security experience, including leadership roles in high-growth SaaS or cloud-native environments. Required expertise includes hands-on experience in Security Engineering and Operations, designing detection pipelines, incident response playbooks, and automation frameworks at scale. A proven track record in executing IAM strategies across cloud platforms and corporate infrastructure is essential, along with practical experience securing workloads across AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.

Gong offers a competitive annual salary range of $234,000 to $335,000 USD, with compensation based on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
