Head of Accounting, Control, and FP&A, Americas Finance

Clifford Chance, a leading global law firm, is seeking a Head of Accounting, Control, and FP&A for its Americas Finance division. This pivotal role is based in New York, NY, and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer, Americas. The Americas business encompasses four locations with annual revenues exceeding $600 million and a workforce of approximately 700 employees, with ambitious growth plans in the coming years.

The Head of Accounting, Control, and FP&A will oversee the financial operations of the Americas, ensuring accurate financial accounting and reporting, effective planning and business partnering, and robust internal controls. Key responsibilities include managing budget and planning processes, conducting investment appraisals, and supporting strategic decision-making in line with global budgeting instructions. The role also involves ensuring compliance with reporting and audit requirements and managing risks associated with escrow, client monies, and cashier functions.

Ideal candidates will be CPA or CMA qualified accountants with over 10 years of experience in dynamic, growing environments, preferably within a law firm or professional services setting. Exceptional organizational abilities, analytical skills, and critical thinking are essential. Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across various stakeholder levels, are also required. Experience in managing complex commercial and control matters under time constraints is crucial.
