Hardware Engineer Intern 2026/27
IMC is seeking a Hardware Engineer Intern for the 2026/27 period in Sydney, Australia. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team dedicated to developing and maintaining ultra-fast systems that underpin IMC's trading infrastructure. As an intern, you will be immersed in real projects, complex problem-solving, and will have the chance to learn from experienced engineers and traders.
In this position, you will focus on low-latency systems, building and maintaining systems with minimal latency to support high-frequency trading. Your responsibilities will include developing with C++ and SystemVerilog programming languages, enhancing your knowledge of algorithm complexity, and collaborating with software, performance, and network engineers. Additionally, you will work in an environment where creativity, teamwork, and innovation are recognized and rewarded.
Candidates should have an academic background in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent, with a minimum Distinction average required; High Distinction preferred. Proficiency in SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL, as well as C++, is essential. Knowledge of Python and logic design is also beneficial. Applicants must have the right to work in Australia or New Zealand and have commenced their penultimate year of study. The internship is set to begin in November 2026.
