The Global Accounting Specialist at Wellhub will be a key member of the Finance team, responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting across international entities. This role involves working in a multicultural environment to maintain compliance with local standards, such as German GAAP/HGB, and international regulations, thereby supporting the global financial closing process and enhancing operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include performing day-to-day accounting functions for multiple international entities, such as journal entries in the general ledger, intercompany transactions, and account reconciliations. The specialist will ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, coordinate and reconcile intercompany accounts, assist with financial consolidation in accordance with German GAAP, and collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders during audits and reviews. Additionally, the role involves ensuring compliance with local statutory accounting and tax regulations, supporting payroll and VAT/GST reporting requirements, developing and implementing global accounting policies and procedures, and participating in global ERP system implementations or upgrades.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Accounting, Administration, Finance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial closing processes, and global business models. Advanced proficiency in Excel, including hard-coding, is required. Experience with financial systems such as Datev and Lucanet is advantageous, as is familiarity with data analysis tools like Power Pivot Table (BI) and basic knowledge of SQL. The candidate should be capable of working independently and collaboratively across geographies, with proven experience in a global accounting role focusing on the general ledger. A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a multinational environment is preferred, along with experience in German GAAP and other European local GAAP; US GAAP experience is a plus. Fluency in English is mandatory.
