FPGA Manager

The FPGA Manager at Voyager Technologies, Inc. is responsible for leading the engineering team in the design and development of FPGA solutions for space communication systems. This role involves both technical leadership and hands-on FPGA development, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The position is based in San Diego, CA, and reports to the Vice President of Product Design.

Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and testing FPGA designs for space communication systems, such as resampling, filtering, mixing, and error correction coding. The manager will assist in architecting solutions against requirements, optimizing FPGA designs for speed and performance, and conducting thorough testing and validation. Additionally, the role involves overseeing daily operations of the engineering team, allocating resources efficiently, and supporting design and development reviews with related documentation.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, along with over seven years of industry experience implementing complex, high-speed FPGA designs of high-throughput algorithms. Experience leading high-performing technical teams and mentoring engineers is essential. Proficiency in FPGA design, integration, and testing, preferably with Xilinx and Microsemi RTG4, is required. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance is also necessary.

The base salary range for this role is $165,000 to $215,000, depending on experience, skills, and location.
