Export Controls Compliance Counsel
Axiom is seeking an Export Controls Compliance Counsel to join its Global Trade Compliance team, supporting a leading FAANG-level technology company. This role involves enhancing and maintaining a sophisticated export controls compliance program within a global organization, addressing complex matters at the intersection of technology, geopolitics, and international trade.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing export controls compliance policies and procedures tailored to business operations, providing guidance on U.S. export controls laws such as the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and supporting global export compliance initiatives, including process improvements and automation tools. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to monitor and respond to evolving export controls and sanctions requirements, conducting risk assessments to identify compliance gaps, and contributing to export classification reviews and compliance training programs.
Candidates should have over five years of experience in export controls, international trade compliance, or a related field, with a strong focus on EAR. Demonstrated hands-on experience with export classification is essential. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory; both attorneys and experienced non-attorneys with relevant expertise are encouraged to apply.
The estimated total compensation for this full-time role ranges from $104,500 to $325,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
