Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney
The United Firm, A.P.C. is seeking an Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney to join its Fresno, California office. This role offers a promising opportunity for a newly admitted attorney to gain valuable experience within a premier law firm known for its commitment to client advocacy and professional growth. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney and collaborate with a dedicated team of attorneys and legal assistants.
In this position, the attorney will be responsible for advising clients on their legal rights, preparing and reviewing legal documents, and representing clients in pretrial hearings. Additional duties include managing court appearances, trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting legal research. The attorney will also analyze case outcomes using legal precedents, manage a caseload, and gather evidence to support clients' cases. Preparing clients for depositions and developing case strategies are also key aspects of this role.
Candidates should possess a Juris Doctorate degree and an active bar admission; law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered. A demonstrated interest in Criminal Defense law through law school clinics, volunteer work, or internships is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage a caseload effectively, and experience with case management software are advantageous. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
The United Firm offers a competitive compensation package, including an annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $90,000.
