Engineering Intern - Business Technology Operations (Foundational PIM)
ALO is seeking a motivated and technically proficient Computer Science Intern to join our Business Technology Operations team. This internship focuses on designing and building a foundational Product Information Management (PIM) system to serve as a single, trusted source of product data across ALO’s technology ecosystem. The program runs from June 8th to July 31st, with interns working 40 hours per week at our Beverly Hills headquarters.
In this role, you will collaborate with Tech, Business, and downstream application teams to define the vision, scope, and requirements for a centralized PIM solution. Responsibilities include designing and implementing a PIM data model that consolidates product data from multiple enterprise systems, building and enhancing data pipelines into the data lake (Amazon Redshift), developing SQL-based transformations and views, and assisting in defining data ownership and attribute-level lineage. Additionally, you will create and maintain technical documentation and support downstream consumption of PIM data.
Candidates should be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, understanding of data modeling concepts, and experience with or exposure to ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration concepts are required. Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, or C# is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a desire to build systems for long-term use are essential.
The base pay range for this position is $45 to $50 per hour.
