Engineering Director - Business Data
Canonical is seeking an Engineering Director to lead the Business Data unit, which comprises three engineering teams responsible for internal business systems integrations, data mesh solutions, and the configuration of platforms like Salesforce and NetSuite. This role is pivotal in enhancing Canonical's data analytics and reporting capabilities, supporting the company's growth in the open-source software and operating systems market.
The Engineering Director will oversee the Business Systems team, the Data Lake team, and the Integrations team. Responsibilities include leading multiple engineering teams, developing engineering managers, implementing performance management systems, and collaborating with stakeholders to align on product development roadmaps. The role also involves expanding teams by hiring top talent and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
Candidates should have an exceptional academic track record and an undergraduate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. Proven ability to lead multiple software engineering teams to deliver outstanding results is essential. Experience in CRM/ERP systems, Python, data engineering/governance, or distributed integrations is required. Strong communication skills and a result-oriented mindset are also important.
