Employee Relations Investigator - San Jose
Axiom is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Investigator to join our technology client team in San Jose, CA. This role involves leading comprehensive workplace investigations within a dynamic global SaaS environment, ensuring that all issues are addressed thoroughly, fairly, and in compliance with applicable laws and internal policies. The position requires on-site presence in the client's office 4-5 days per week.
The Employee Relations Investigator will manage end-to-end investigations, including intake, scoping, interviews, evidence review, findings, and recommendations. Responsibilities encompass handling a portfolio of 6–8 complex cases simultaneously, with an expectation to close most within approximately 30 days. The role also involves drafting clear, well-structured investigation reports and collaborating closely with Legal, HR, and business leaders on outcomes, remediation, and risk mitigation. Maintaining accurate case documentation, tracking metrics, and contributing to the continuous improvement of investigation processes are key aspects of the position.
Candidates must possess at least 10 years of hands-on experience in employee relations and workplace investigations, with a proven track record in handling complex and sensitive matters such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and policy violations. Experience in a fast-paced technology or SaaS environment is strongly preferred. Exceptional interviewing, fact-finding, documentation, and written communication skills are essential. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required; an advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) are a plus.
The estimated total compensation for this full-time role ranges from $104,500 to $325,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
