Embedded Devices Software Solution Sales Manager (Americas)
Canonical is seeking an Embedded Devices Software Solution Sales Manager to join its globally distributed team. This role focuses on expanding the reach of Ubuntu, Canonical's widely adopted open-source platform, into mission-critical industries across the Americas. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic sales team dedicated to promoting Ubuntu's applications in connected devices and industrial PCs, including the enhanced Ubuntu Core for IoT, which offers advanced security and resilience for high-end appliances and equipment.
The primary responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive territory sales plan targeting leading security-focused brands and manufacturers. The role involves collaborating with marketing to boost brand awareness, generating pipelines through proactive outreach and industry events, and managing customer relationships throughout the sales cycle. Achieving and surpassing quarterly and annual booking targets is a key aspect of this position. Additionally, the manager will work closely with Field Engineers to understand customer requirements and ensure satisfaction, while maintaining accurate data and forecasts within Salesforce.
Candidates should possess an exceptional academic background, including an undergraduate degree in a technical field. A proven track record in field sales within embedded Linux, embedded software, or enterprise software is essential, along with demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and securing large account wins. Proficiency in Linux, particularly Debian or Ubuntu, is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, professional English communication abilities, and a result-oriented mindset are crucial. The role requires the ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events and up to 50% for customer meetings and industry events.
