District of Columbia (DC) Remote Mental Health Licensed Therapist, 1099 Contractor

Headspace is seeking part-time, independently licensed therapists in the District of Columbia to provide virtual mental health services as 1099 contractors. This role involves delivering teletherapy sessions to clients through a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform, contributing to Headspace's mission of making mental health support accessible to everyone.

As a Remote Mental Health Licensed Therapist, you will conduct intake assessments and follow-up therapy sessions, each lasting 60 and 45 minutes respectively. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical case notes within 48 hours, updating licensure records, managing your availability calendar, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team comprising health coaches, fellow therapists, psychiatrists, and external care providers.

Candidates must possess an independent clinical license in good standing at the Master or Doctoral level, with a minimum of three years' experience providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, or families. Proficiency in evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and Mindfulness is required, along with experience in risk management and handling higher acuity cases. A commitment to culturally responsive care and familiarity with telehealth technologies are essential.

The compensation for this role ranges from $80 to $85 per teletherapy session, with session lengths of 60 minutes for intakes and 45 minutes for follow-ups. Therapists are encouraged to offer at least 10 sessions per week, with flexibility to adjust based on personal schedules and client demand.
