Director of Special Projects, Architecture + Store Design
ALO is seeking a senior-level design professional to lead the architectural design and project management of its Special Projects division, encompassing offices, experiential fit-outs, wellness clubs, and pop-up locations. This role is integral to ALO's mission of promoting mindful movement and enhancing community well-being through thoughtfully designed spaces.
The Director will oversee the development and management of 5-10 projects annually, varying in size and global location, from inception through construction completion and occupancy. Responsibilities include establishing partnerships with consultants, vendors, and general contractors, coordinating internal communications among stakeholders, and ensuring projects adhere to ALO's brand standards, timelines, and budgets. The role also involves managing project-specific details, sourcing and overseeing consultants, and leading due diligence and feasibility studies for prospective projects.
Candidates must possess extensive experience in architectural design and project management, with a strong technical understanding of real estate and construction. The role requires strategic thinking to align designs with company goals, excellent communication and presentation skills, and a commitment to design excellence. A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture, or equivalent, is required, along with proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp or other 3D modeling software, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel, and project management platforms.
The base salary for this position ranges from $180,000 to $190,000 per year, with actual compensation varying based on factors such as location, experience, and performance. Additional rewards may include performance bonuses, long-term incentives, and a progressive benefits package.
