Deputy General Counsel, Strategic Partnerships
As Deputy General Counsel for Strategic Partnerships at OKX, you will lead the legal strategy for the company's institutional trading, custody, and partnership initiatives. Reporting to the Global Head of Commercial and Marketing Legal, you will oversee a global team and collaborate directly with executive leadership to drive OKX's growth in the institutional crypto market.
Your primary responsibilities will include serving as the lead legal authority on strategic institutional partnerships and trading arrangements, such as custody, exchange integrations, prime brokerage, staking, co-investments, and alliances. You will advise on complex cross-border transactions, crypto product structuring, and multi-jurisdictional regulatory compliance, including token classification and securities law. Additionally, you will develop contracting infrastructure, templates, and playbooks to facilitate efficient institutional deal execution, and manage end-to-end legal due diligence on institutional counterparties.
The ideal candidate will possess active membership with a U.S. state bar or equivalent, and have over 10 years of post-qualification legal experience, including significant time at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house at a leading financial institution. Substantial expertise in cryptocurrency and digital assets law, particularly in areas such as token classification, custody structures, exchange regulation, and decentralized finance (DeFi), is essential. Experience with strategic institutional trading, prime brokerage, custody, or structured products is also required.
