Deputy General Counsel
OKX is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to lead regulatory legal matters across the Middle East and CIS regions, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kazakhstan. This role involves engaging with financial regulators, advising on product launches, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with global legal, compliance, and product teams to develop and implement regulatory strategies.
Key responsibilities include leading licensing applications, managing regulatory notifications, and maintaining relationships with financial regulators. The Deputy General Counsel will provide legal guidance on new product offerings, monitor regulatory developments, and oversee external counsel on complex regulatory matters. Additionally, the role involves handling regulatory correspondence and ensuring marketing materials and contracts comply with local standards.
The ideal candidate holds a law degree and is eligible to practice as an advocate, with over 12 years of experience in top-tier law firms or in-house legal teams, preferably within the financial services or cryptocurrency sectors. A strong understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain legal issues is essential, along with the ability to navigate rapidly changing legal landscapes. The candidate should be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and possess excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
