In this position, the Data Scientist will engage in diverse use cases within a dynamic production environment, applying strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a strong business acumen. Responsibilities include analyzing data from various sources to create actionable inputs, understanding customer use cases to develop models that translate into meaningful insights, initiating tasks from exploration to proof of concept, and collaborating with data engineers to achieve desired production results. The role also involves owning the validation process for existing metrics and deploying machine-learning models into production for ongoing use.
Candidates should possess an M.Sc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, along with over three years of experience with statistical and machine learning tools such as Python or R. Strong communication skills are essential for guiding customers through custom-built models. Experience in developing machine learning, image processing, or NLP algorithms, as well as proficiency in probability theory and statistics, is required. Familiarity with Big Data tools and cloud infrastructure, particularly PySpark and AWS, is advantageous.
