Criminal Defense Paralegal

The United Firm, also known as La Liga Defensora, A.P.C., is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Paralegal to join their Los Angeles office. This role is integral to the firm's commitment to providing comprehensive legal services in criminal defense. The successful candidate will work closely with attorneys and clients to ensure efficient case management and support.

Key responsibilities include maintaining communication with clients, managing attorney schedules, processing criminal cases for trial preparation, completing daily court calendars, requesting discovery from prosecuting offices, assisting with motion drafting, preparing and canceling subpoenas, entering revocation petitions, and preparing files for court. Additionally, the paralegal will request criminal history documentation, schedule appointments for defense attorneys, and communicate with law enforcement, the general public, and victims and witnesses in criminal cases.

Candidates should have at least two years of experience in criminal defense, be bilingual in English and Spanish, and possess previous experience as a paralegal or in another legal field. Experience with case management software and federal criminal matters is also required.
