Criminal Defense Paralegal
The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Paralegal to join their San Jose office. This role is integral to the firm's criminal defense team, providing essential support to attorneys and clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal defense and a commitment to upholding the firm's standards of excellence.
As a Criminal Defense Paralegal, your primary responsibilities will include maintaining communication with clients and providing timely case updates. You will manage attorney schedules, coordinate court appearances, and prepare legal documents for trial. Additional duties involve processing daily court calendars, issuing subpoenas, and assisting in the preparation of revocation petitions. You will also request and manage criminal history documentation and coordinate appointments for defense attorneys with various stakeholders.
The position requires bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with at least two years of experience in criminal defense. Candidates should have prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal and be familiar with case management software. A working knowledge of current legislative and regulatory guidelines in criminal defense is essential.
Compensation for this role ranges from $24 to $35 per hour, based on experience.
