Criminal Defense Legal Assistant

The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is seeking a Criminal Defense Legal Assistant to join their San Jose, CA office. This role is integral to the firm's criminal defense team, providing essential support to attorneys and clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal defense and be adept at managing various legal tasks.

In this position, the Legal Assistant will be responsible for maintaining communication with clients, managing attorney schedules, and preparing legal documents for trial. Daily tasks include processing criminal cases, preparing subpoenas, and coordinating with law enforcement agencies. The role also involves assisting victims with restitution information and supporting front desk responsibilities related to criminal complaints.

Candidates should be bilingual in English and Spanish and have prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in the legal field. Proficiency with case management software is required. A minimum of two years of experience in criminal defense is preferred.
