Twilio is seeking a Counsel, Commercial to join its growing legal team supporting the Go-to-Market Sales team. This role involves partnering with the enterprise sales team to manage the full life-cycle negotiation of complex enterprise sales deals. Twilio is a cloud communications platform that enables developers to build, scale, and operate communications within software applications, serving a diverse range of industries worldwide.
The Counsel, Commercial will be responsible for reviewing, negotiating, drafting, and managing a wide array of legal agreements. This includes advising internal clients on contract interpretation and negotiation, ensuring compliance with Twilio's policies, and mitigating risks in line with applicable laws and regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to understanding customer positions and internal client requests, aiming to address issues from multiple perspectives effectively.
Candidates must possess strong academic credentials and a demonstrated record of success as a lawyer. A minimum of 5 years of commercial transactions experience is required, with at least 3 years focused on negotiating complex technology transactions, such as SaaS agreements. Experience supporting a large sales organization is essential. The ability to structure, draft, and negotiate a high volume of commercial contracts, including Master Services Agreements and Non-Disclosure Agreements, is crucial. Outstanding communication skills and the capacity to manage a heavy workflow efficiently are also necessary.
Twilio offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $120,640 to $150,800, with a target bonus percentage of 12.5%.
