Clearway Energy is seeking a Counsel to provide legal guidance as the company pursues opportunities in utility-scale wind, solar, battery energy storage, and gas sectors. This hybrid role reports to an Assistant General Counsel and is available in Denver, San Francisco, San Diego, or Scottsdale offices.

The Counsel will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating project documents such as power purchase agreements and financing documents, including tax equity structures and debt financing. The role also involves representing the company in acquisitions and dispositions, supervising outside counsel, and advising on legal issues related to operating projects. Additionally, the Counsel will support litigation and dispute resolution processes and collaborate with internal teams to enhance contracting processes and tools.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, particularly in complex commercial or project finance matters, is required. Experience with project finance and development in utility-scale wind, solar, battery energy storage, and gas projects is preferred. Strong communication, project management, and negotiation skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Compensation varies by location, with annual salaries ranging from $147,000 to $210,000, depending on the office location. The role is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on personal and company performance.
