Clearway Energy is seeking a Counsel to provide legal guidance and support as the company pursues opportunities in utility-scale wind, solar, battery energy storage, and gas sectors. This hybrid role reports to an Assistant General Counsel and is available in Denver, San Francisco, San Diego, or Scottsdale offices.

In this position, the Counsel will review, interpret, draft, and negotiate project documents such as power purchase agreements and financing documents, including tax equity structures, debt financing, and cash equity financing. The role also involves representing the company in acquisitions and dispositions, supervising outside counsel as necessary, providing counsel on legal issues related to operating projects, supporting litigation and dispute resolution processes, advising on regulatory issues, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to improve contracting processes and tools.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with a strong academic record and be licensed to practice law. A minimum of three years of relevant experience as an attorney at a law firm or in-house legal department is required, ideally with exposure to complex commercial or project finance matters. Experience advising on project finance and development matters involving utility-scale wind, solar, battery energy storage, and gas projects is preferred. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, analyze complex information, and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

The compensation for this role varies by location:

- Denver, Scottsdale: $147,000 - $175,000

- San Diego: $162,000 - $190,000

- San Francisco: $175,000 - $210,000
