Clearway Energy is seeking a Counsel to provide legal guidance and support as the company pursues opportunities in utility-scale wind, solar, battery energy storage, and gas sectors. This hybrid role reports to an Assistant General Counsel and is available in Denver, San Francisco, San Diego, or Scottsdale offices.

In this position, the Counsel will be responsible for reviewing, interpreting, drafting, and negotiating project documents such as power purchase agreements and financing documents, including tax equity structures, debt financing, and cash equity financing. The role also involves representing the company in acquisitions and dispositions, supervising outside counsel as necessary, providing counsel on legal issues related to operating projects, supporting litigation and dispute resolution processes, advising management on regulatory issues, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to improve contracting processes and tools.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with a strong academic record and be licensed to practice law. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, particularly in complex commercial or project finance matters, is required. Experience advising on project finance and development matters involving utility-scale wind, solar, battery energy storage, and gas projects is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, analyze complex information, and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Compensation varies by location, with annual salaries ranging from $147,000 to $210,000, depending on geographic location, skills, experience, education, and other factors. This role is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on personal and company performance goals.
