Corporate Controller - Group Lead
The Corporate Controller - Group Lead at Similarweb is responsible for managing the accounting and financial operations of the company's headquarters and its subsidiaries. This role reports directly to the Director of Finance and plays a pivotal part in overseeing month-end and quarter-end closing processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. Similarweb is a global leader in digital intelligence, providing businesses with data, insights, and analytics to make informed decisions in the digital economy.
Key responsibilities include leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for global subsidiaries and the parent company, preparing journal entries, and conducting flux analysis. The role also involves managing a team of direct reports, overseeing the annual 20-F filing and other relevant filings, supporting audit processes by providing necessary work papers, preparing annual tax returns, and engaging in complex tax analysis with external advisors. Additionally, the Corporate Controller assists in designing and documenting internal controls (SOX) and policies, supports the implementation of new accounting standards to comply with US-GAAP, ensures the accuracy of financial records in collaboration with the accounts payable team, and leads improvements in internal financial and system processes.
The ideal candidate possesses experience in at least two high-tech companies, preferably within the SaaS industry, and holds a CPA qualification with experience from a Big 4 firm. Proven experience in managing direct reports is essential, along with native-level proficiency in English. A strong knowledge of US-GAAP, advanced proficiency in ERP systems (with NetSuite being advantageous), and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel are required. The candidate should demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workloads, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of confidentiality and maturity. Experience with AI tools for finance is considered an advantage.
