Contracts & Supply Chain Summer 2027 Internship

The Contracts & Supply Chain Summer 2027 Internship at STR offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in procurement and supply chain management within a leading technology company. STR specializes in advanced research and development for defense, intelligence, and national security sectors, focusing on areas such as cyber, next-generation sensors, radar, sonar, communications, electronic warfare, and artificial intelligence. This internship is designed for individuals pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Liberal Arts, Supply Chain Management, or those with comparable military experience.

Interns will engage in various activities, including working with different types of contract vehicles, supporting supplier source selection, assisting in the preparation of Requests for Proposal/Quotes, and gaining exposure to STR's technology areas and mission/system applications. They will also participate in subcontract/purchase order placement, cost/price analysis, record keeping, negotiations, documentation preparation, and supplier management. Additionally, interns will gain an understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARS) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS), as well as insight into execution risk management.

To be eligible, candidates must be U.S. citizens due to the nature of STR’s work and U.S. export regulations. Desired skills include excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal skills, the ability to organize tasks and prioritize assignments, effective time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Candidates should be able to work independently or in a team environment, thrive in a fast-paced setting, and be willing to learn and contribute to organizational success.
