Contracts and Legal Operations Manager
Muon Space is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts and Legal Operations Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day lifecycle of both commercial and government contracts, including those with the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and Civil agencies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Growth (business development), Mission Engineering (Program Management), and Supply Chain to accelerate deal execution, streamline workflows, and proactively mitigate contractual risks.
Key responsibilities include drafting and reviewing various agreements, such as NDAs, Teaming Agreements, Subcontracts, Consulting Agreements, Vendor Agreements, and Purchase Order terms and conditions, ensuring accurate flow-down of prime contract requirements. You will identify and escalate deviations from standard positions and unfavorable clauses, translating technical and business risks into structured review packages for senior contracts counsel. Additionally, you will partner with the Growth team through the pre-award lifecycle, supporting bid capture and proposal preparation.
The role requires 4+ years of experience in contracts administration, management, or legal operations, with at least 2 recent years at a government defense contractor, intelligence community partner, or aerospace company. A working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its supplements is essential, along with fluency in government contract portals such as PIEE, and WAWF. Hands-on experience across the full contract lifecycle with a mix of Fixed-Price, Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), commercial/non-commercial, and Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreements is also required.
The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000, complemented by a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
