Compliance Officer
The Compliance Officer at Clifford Chance plays a pivotal role in ensuring the firm's adherence to regulatory and legal standards. Reporting directly to the Head of Regional Compliance and the Office Managing Partner, this position involves close collaboration with partners, lawyers, and business professionals to maintain a robust compliance framework within the organization.
Key responsibilities include leading the promotion and monitoring of compliance initiatives, developing and implementing preventive monitoring mechanisms, and providing guidance on global policies and procedures. The Compliance Officer is also tasked with identifying and assessing regulatory risks, advising on gifts and hospitality queries, and liaising with local regulatory bodies to ensure the firm's operations align with evolving compliance laws and regulations.
Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of experience in compliance or related fields, with a strong understanding of local bar regulations, anti-money laundering laws, anti-bribery statutes, data privacy, and insider trading regulations. The role requires the ability to work independently, engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, and implement internal policies and controls effectively. Professional compliance or legal qualifications are considered advantageous.
