STR is seeking a Systems Administrator with an active Secret or Top Secret clearance to join our Information Technology team in Woburn, Massachusetts. This role is integral to supporting the infrastructure behind our cutting-edge defense research, ensuring the secure and reliable operation of our systems.

As a Systems Administrator, you will collaborate with senior administrators, Information System Security Officers (ISSO), and researchers to implement, deploy, and maintain Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu) and Windows operating systems in both traditional and virtualized environments. Your responsibilities will include configuring and maintaining NAS Storage, Networking, Firewall, and Directory Services such as MS Active Directory management and Group Policy administration. You will also perform performance monitoring, results analysis, and process automation using PowerShell scripting and other technologies. Daily tasks involve system maintenance, problem resolution, and project support, along with creating and maintaining installation and configuration Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Additionally, after-hours support for maintenance and patching may be required.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience, a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience, or a PhD or equivalent experience. An active Secret or Top Secret security clearance is mandatory. Proficiency in Linux Administration (Red Hat, Ubuntu) and Windows OS Administration is essential. Preferred qualifications include experience with Enterprise Virtualization Tools, Multi-Factor Authentication, Public Key Infrastructure, Web Servers, Active Directory (including Group Policy, LDAP backend, and Replication), and effective utilization of Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Content and Tools. Knowledge of Host Based Security System (HBSS) implementation and maintenance, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) support, and current knowledge of DoD Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPS) is also advantageous.

The full-time salary range for this position is $105,000 to $125,000 annually, based on external market data and factors such as experience, education, training, key skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
