Chief Scientist
The Chief Scientist at STR will lead technical teams in developing and deploying open architecture solutions for sensor systems, focusing on real-time, resource-constrained applications with strict latency requirements. This role involves transitioning algorithms from concept to real-time implementation, contributing to marketing efforts, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key responsibilities include optimizing architecture performance, architecting communication infrastructure for distributed processing systems, supporting end-to-end open system integration, conducting design reviews, and ensuring compliance with open architecture standards. The Chief Scientist will also mentor junior and mid-level engineers, write technical reports, interface with customers and stakeholders, lead proposal development efforts, and collaborate with various engineering teams.
Candidates should possess a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 10-15+ years of relevant experience. Experience in open architecture development, sensor system integration, professional software development, C++ for high-performance real-time applications, and leading complex development efforts is required. An active security clearance at the Secret or Top Secret level is preferred.
The full-time salary range for this position is $26,500,000 to $33,000,000 annually.
