Business Development Manager - Commercial
The Business Development Manager - Commercial at Muon Space is responsible for driving the company's growth by managing the entire commercial business capture process. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional engineering and product teams to deliver integrated solutions, ensuring the realization of strategic commercial objectives across market segments such as remote sensing, commercial satellite communications, and next-generation orbital infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include leading customer discovery and lead generation activities to identify new opportunities, managing active pipeline opportunities to facilitate increased deal velocity, and implementing qualification criteria and price estimation frameworks for standard deals. The role also involves delivering market sizing reports and customer discovery insights for emerging verticals, overseeing deal closure, and ensuring a seamless transition from pre-sales to execution.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of relevant technical experience in engineering, technical sales, or technical solutioning within the aerospace sector, along with more than five years of direct business development and/or sales experience in a related field. Full lifecycle business development experience, encompassing lead generation, discovery, capture, and proposal management, is essential. Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact across all levels of the organization are also required. A Bachelor of Science in a technical or related field, or a Bachelor of Commerce/Business degree paired with significant technical experience, is necessary. U.S. Person status is required due to ITAR/EAR export control regulations.
The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $160,000, with on-target earnings between $200,000 and $320,000, including base salary and target commission at 100% quota attainment. The commission structure is uncapped. Additionally, the compensation package includes a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits. Final compensation will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
