Billing Specialist

Sterlington PLLC is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage invoicing and billing operations in a dynamic, client-focused environment. This role is integral to the firm's revenue operations, collaborating closely with partners, finance, and client teams to ensure invoices are accurate, timely, and aligned with client expectations. The Billing Specialist will play a key role in maintaining efficient billing processes and supporting overall cash flow.

Key responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and issuing invoices accurately and on time, encompassing billable hours and client-specific billing arrangements. The specialist will work closely with partners and internal stakeholders to validate billing details before dispatching invoices, track billing schedules to meet deadlines consistently, and review time entries, expenses, and billing data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Additionally, the role involves resolving billing queries and disputes by coordinating with internal teams and communicating with clients, maintaining organized billing records, supporting month-end processes, identifying recurring billing issues, and suggesting practical improvements to processes. Collaboration with collections and accounts receivable teams is also essential to ensure a smooth transition from invoicing to payment.

The ideal candidate will have 2–5+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or finance operations. Familiarity with AI-assisted billing tools and a willingness to adopt AI-augmented workflows are highly valued. Strong attention to detail, comfort with various billing structures (hourly, fixed fee, retainers), clear communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple invoices and deadlines are essential. Experience with accounting or billing systems and solid Excel skills are also required.
