The Autonomy Algorithms Lead Software Engineer at STR's Analytics & C2 Division is a pivotal role focused on developing advanced algorithms and software systems for autonomous platforms. This position is based in Woburn, MA, or Arlington, VA, offering a flexible, hybrid work environment. The team comprises individuals with backgrounds in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, and data science, all dedicated to enhancing mission success through innovative solutions.
In this role, you will design, develop, implement, integrate, test, and demonstrate advanced algorithms and software systems for autonomous platforms. Your responsibilities include providing technical leadership and mentoring throughout the software and system development lifecycle, from early prototypes to integrated systems. You will develop software tools and applications for mission planning systems, automated control processes, unmanned platforms, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
Candidates should possess an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and a BS in Computer Science or a related technical field with over seven years of experience. A minimum of five years of experience with C++ or Java is required, along with full-stack development experience focusing on backend algorithmic development. Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization is essential. Experience in leading engineering teams through the complete Agile development lifecycle is also necessary.
The compensation for this role includes a full-time salary ranging from $1,730,000 to $2,160,000 annually. Offers are determined based on factors such as experience, education, training, key skills, security clearances, and prevailing market conditions.
