Assistant General Counsel, International Trade
The Assistant General Counsel, International Trade at Intuitive is a pivotal role within the Corporate and Compliance team of the Legal Department. This position requires a deep understanding of global trade laws and regulations to ensure the company's compliance across various international markets. The role involves close collaboration with multiple departments, including Supply Chain, Global Public Affairs (GPA), Regulatory Affairs, Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Facilities, and Trade stakeholders.
Key responsibilities encompass serving as the lead counsel on U.S. and global trade issues, such as export, import, and customs compliance, export controls, and trade sanctions. The role also involves supporting the internal third-party management program, providing guidance on trade compliance programs, monitoring geopolitical developments, and coordinating with various teams during due diligence for transactions. Additionally, the Assistant General Counsel will develop and deliver training on global trade compliance requirements and conduct risk assessments and investigations.
Candidates should possess extensive experience in international trade law, including expertise in export controls, trade sanctions, and customs compliance. Strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret complex regulations, and experience in cross-functional collaboration are essential. The role also requires proficiency in developing and delivering training programs and conducting risk assessments.
