Area Health Information Specialist II - Brooklyn, NY - Onsite

The Area Health Information Specialist II at Datavant is a full-time, onsite role based in Brooklyn, NY. Datavant is a leading health information technology company specializing in secure data exchange and management. This position is integral to the Release of Information (ROI) team, ensuring efficient and confidential handling of patient health records.

Key responsibilities include processing and fulfilling medical record requests, assisting walk-in patients with record disclosures, and managing image requests by burning patient records to CDs. The role also involves scanning, faxing, and handling inbound and outbound ROI workflows, providing call support to patients, providers, attorneys, and other requestors, as well as performing data entry and administrative tasks. Monitoring fax queues, inboxes, and shared drives, and providing coverage at other client locations as needed are also part of the daily duties.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED. Prior experience in healthcare, Health Information Management (HIM), or ROI is preferred. The role requires full onsite work and a willingness to travel locally to provide coverage as needed. Proficiency with computers, email, and office equipment is essential, along with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
