Algorithm Developer

The Algorithm Developer at Energy Exemplar is responsible for developing and maintaining optimization engines and ancillary calculations within the company's products. This role is integral to the platform's offerings, requiring deep domain knowledge and expertise in mathematical programming. The position involves both software development and technical support, including client interactions to understand and implement solutions for complex domain issues.

Key responsibilities include researching emerging technologies in the energy sector, proposing and developing new features with high-quality coding standards, and conducting technical testing to resolve issues. The developer will also produce technical documentation and engage in the requirement specification process for new software functionalities. Additionally, the role involves liaising with colleagues and clients to reproduce and correct defective software, providing technical advice, and ensuring timely responses to high-priority items.

Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience (including and C#) and other development languages such as C++ and Python. Strong mathematical skills with a solid theoretical background in numerical analysis and optimization techniques are essential. Experience working in an Agile development environment, familiarity with linear and mixed-integer programming tools, and knowledge of analytical tools like Unit Commitment and Economic Dispatch are also required. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is necessary, with a postgraduate degree being advantageous.
