Senior Energy Market Analyst
The Senior Energy Market Analyst at Energy Exemplar will serve as a subject matter expert in European energy markets, contributing to the company's mission of empowering transformative energy decisions. This role is integral to the EMEA Solutions team, focusing on delivering energy market models and implementing the PLEXOS software to support clients in navigating the evolving energy landscape.
Key responsibilities include leading projects to develop energy market models, conducting requirements gathering workshops, and designing innovative modeling approaches using PLEXOS. The analyst will provide guidance on industry best practices, assist clients in analyzing model outcomes, perform model calibration, and consult on strategic changes within client organizations. Additionally, the role involves supporting business development by generating thought leadership and providing domain and technical expertise throughout the sales process.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in energy market economics, familiarity with wholesale market trends, and an understanding of key market drivers. Proficiency in fundamental market modeling tools for forecasting energy prices and cross-border flows across various time horizons is essential. Experience in using market models for pre-trade decisions, understanding Value at Risk, developing medium-term hedging strategies, and optimizing participation in secondary markets is highly desirable. Additionally, the candidate should have skills in scripting and automation using high-level programming languages and APIs to streamline data processes and modeling tasks.
