WeLab Bank - Manager, AML Compliance
WeLab Bank is seeking a Manager for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance to join their dynamic team in Hong Kong. As a leading pan-Asian fintech platform, WeLab operates two digital banks and multiple online financial services across Hong Kong, Mainland China, Indonesia, and Malaysia, serving over 70 million individual users and more than 700 enterprise customers. The AML Compliance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the bank's adherence to regulatory standards and the effective implementation of AML programs.
In this role, the Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining AML and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) programs, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with current regulations. Key duties include reviewing transaction alerts, conducting risk assessments, and providing AML/CTF advisory support to internal stakeholders such as business, operations, and technology teams. The Manager will also handle inquiries from relevant regulators, deliver training on AML/CTF matters, and drive customer data protection initiatives within the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in Accounting & Finance, Business, Law, or a related discipline, along with AML qualifications such as CAMS, CAMLP, or AAMLP. A minimum of 5 years of experience in AML/CTF functions is required, with a strong understanding of AML/CTF laws and regulations. Familiarity with banking compliance standards and experience in retail banking are highly preferred. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently and strategically, possess a strong interest in fintech, and exhibit excellent communication skills.
