Vice President, Legal and Compliance - CFTC Compliance
Galaxy is seeking a Vice President of Legal and Compliance to oversee its CFTC compliance programs, focusing on swap dealer and Commodity Pool Operator/Commodity Trade Advisor (CPO/CTA) activities. This role is integral to ensuring the firm's adherence to regulatory standards within the digital assets and financial services sectors. The position is based in New York City, where Galaxy is headquartered.
The Vice President will be responsible for developing and maintaining compliance programs related to swap activities and CPO/CTA operations. Key duties include providing advisory coverage for sales and trading activities, evaluating new products and services for compliance risks, creating and maintaining policies and procedures, administering training, conducting e-communication surveillance, and managing relationships with regulators such as the National Futures Association (NFA). Additionally, the role involves preparing annual compliance reports and coordinating with internal teams to ensure firm-wide compliance.
Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of legal or compliance experience, preferably within a U.S. sell-side firm. Strong product knowledge and regulatory experience in OTC derivatives and swap dealer businesses are essential. A demonstrated track record in implementing and executing compliance programs at a registered swap dealer is required. A Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is also necessary.
Galaxy offers a competitive base salary ranging from $180,000 to $240,000 annually, complemented by a discretionary bonus.
