Vice President, Commercial Legal Affairs

Freshworks is seeking an experienced legal professional to lead our global commercial legal team as Vice President, Commercial Legal Affairs. This role involves overseeing all aspects of commercial transactions and agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and serving as a trusted advisor to various departments within the organization. The position is based in our San Mateo, California office, with a hybrid work schedule from Tuesday to Thursday.

The Vice President will lead a team of commercial attorneys responsible for structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of agreements, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), vendor contracts, professional services agreements, and partnership, distributor, and reseller agreements. This role requires active participation in high-stakes negotiations to protect the company's interests while fostering positive business relationships and facilitating deal closures.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial transactions within the SaaS industry, with a strong understanding of AI-powered business models. Exceptional project management, analytical, and communication skills are essential, along with demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to mentoring and training a global team. A collaborative and pragmatic approach is crucial for success in this role.

The annual base salary range for this position is $330,000 to $405,000 USD. Compensation is based on factors including location, experience, job-related skills, and level. Additional benefits may include bonus and equity options.
