Employment Counsel

Freshworks is seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to lead complex employment matters across India and the APMEA region. This role involves providing strategic legal advice on sensitive investigations, workforce transitions, and executive separations, ensuring compliance with evolving labor laws. The position is integral to Freshworks' commitment to fostering a compliant and ethical workplace culture.

Key responsibilities include serving as the lead legal advisor for high-risk employment issues, monitoring legislative developments, and overseeing the design and governance of employment documents and frameworks. The role also involves supervising personnel-related investigations, guiding internal committees, and collaborating with HR leadership to align people programs with Freshworks' values and global standards.

The ideal candidate will possess a law degree (LL.B.) from a recognized university, with approximately 12–16 years of post-qualification experience in employment law and corporate governance. Strong expertise in Indian labor laws and familiarity with international regulatory frameworks are essential. Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a dynamic environment are required.
