Underwriting Specialist
Figure is seeking an Underwriting Specialist to join its dynamic team in Charlotte, NC. As a blockchain-native capital marketplace, Figure has originated over $22 billion in home equity loans, positioning itself as the largest non-bank provider of home equity financing in the U.S. This role is integral to developing and maintaining underwriting processes, ensuring that loan products adhere to all regulatory and internal standards.
The Underwriting Specialist will be responsible for reviewing and underwriting loan applications, ensuring compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and applicable regulations. Key duties include analyzing complex financial data, such as tax returns and income statements, to make informed lending decisions. The role also involves collaborating with the Senior Operations Manager and underwriting team to develop and refine underwriting guidelines for new products, as well as monitoring key performance metrics for underwriting accuracy and efficiency.
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience, focusing on conventional, portfolio, and special program loans. Expertise in underwriting guidelines for Self-Employed borrowers, Trusts, LLCs, Powers of Attorney (POA), and Debt Service Coverage Ratios (DSCR) is essential. Proficiency with underwriting tools and systems, such as DU and LP, along with strong analytical skills and attention to detail, are required. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
The position offers a base compensation range of $77,400 to $94,600 per year, with a 25% annual bonus target paid quarterly. Employees are also eligible for company equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
