Transportation Project Engineer
Benesch is seeking an experienced Transportation Project Engineer to join our team dedicated to enhancing transportation infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to work on planning, engineering design, and construction projects for public agencies, contributing to the development of urban and rural roadways. The position is available in multiple locations, including Omaha, NE; Bellevue, NE; Lincoln, NE; Grand Island, NE; and Rapid City, SD, with a flexible hybrid work schedule.
The Transportation Project Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed designs from preliminary to final stages, collaborating with team members and stakeholders to define project requirements, and compiling plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Additional duties include supporting studies and alternative analyses, ensuring high-quality deliverables, contributing to proposal development, managing small projects or tasks, and maintaining project documentation.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or higher. A Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain one upon hire is preferred. Experience in transportation engineering design is also preferred. The role requires effective communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and proficiency in MicroStation Open Roads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D design software. Experience working with local and state public agency clients is advantageous.
