Technical Solutions Consultant
The Technical Solutions Consultant at Millennium Computer Systems Limited (MCSL), a subsidiary of Banyan Software, plays a pivotal role in delivering technical support and custom development services to higher education clients. MCSL specializes in reporting and analytics platforms that integrate with major ERPs, serving institutions across Canada, the U.S., and Australia. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely within Canada, preferably in the Pacific Time zone.
In this role, the consultant will collaborate directly with clients to diagnose and resolve technical issues within their environments. Responsibilities include writing and modifying Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code to address client concerns, implementing these solutions into MCSL's development environment, and delivering custom development as required. Clear communication with client stakeholders about technical problems, solutions, and next steps is essential. The consultant will also work closely with the Technical Solutions lead, gradually taking on a larger share of the team's client work, and may expand their expertise to MCSL's broader technology stack, including Visual Studio, and JavaScript.
Candidates should have 3–5 years of hands-on development experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including writing and modifying code. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective client interaction. The ability to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time is required. Preferred qualifications include experience with Ellucian Banner, exposure to Visual Studio, or JavaScript, and familiarity with higher education environments or university and college clients. A broad technical background and a proven ability to quickly learn new languages and tools are advantageous.
The compensation for this role ranges from $70,000 to $85,000 CAD annually, depending on experience. The position is fully remote within Canada, with a preference for candidates in the Pacific Time zone. All roles operate from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
