Team Lead, MEP/PEP Administration, (PFS)
The Team Lead, MEP/PEP Administration at Strongpoint Partners is a remote position responsible for managing a portfolio of approximately 65–75 qualified retirement plans, including complex plan designs such as Safe Harbor, Profit Sharing, Cross-Tested/New Comparability, Combo Defined Contribution/Cash Balance, Defined Contribution/Defined Benefit plans, Pooled Employer Plans (PEPs), Open and Closed Multiple Employer Plans (MEPs), and Group of Plans (GOPs). This role combines technical expertise in retirement plan administration with leadership responsibilities, overseeing a Retirement Plan Administrator and ensuring high-quality client service.
Key responsibilities include performing annual compliance testing (ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, 410(b), 401(a)(4), 414(s), Benefits, Rights & Features), coordinating annual valuations, delivering contribution options, Annual Valuation Reports (AVRs), participant statements, Form 5500 filings, and client communications related to combo plans in partnership with the actuarial team. The role also involves reviewing and interpreting plan documents, recommending plan design enhancements, processing participant transactions (distributions, loans, hardships, rollovers, and required plan amendments), preparing and filing government forms (Forms 5500, 8955-SSA, 5330), performing trust accounting for pooled investment accounts and self-directed brokerage accounts, analyzing Controlled Group and Affiliated Service Group ownership structures to determine plan compliance requirements, and importing, validating, and reconciling participant census and financial data.
Candidates should have over 10 years of full-cycle retirement plan administration experience, with a strong background in administering complex defined contribution plans. Experience with multiple employer plans (MEPs) and pooled employer plans (PEPs) is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel and Word, is required. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines are essential. Exceptional communication and client service skills, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving, are also important.
This is a fully remote position open to candidates in the Eastern and Central time zones, with a preference for those in the Atlanta area who can work on a hybrid schedule.
