The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Total Search at WPP Media is a pivotal leadership role within the UK senior leadership team, responsible for setting the strategic direction and driving growth for the Total Search practice across agencies, clients, and personnel. This position operates within the Media Management & Delivery function, leading both the operational and strategic evolution of Search by unifying Paid and Organic disciplines and advancing WPP Media’s transition into Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) as search becomes increasingly influenced by AI and Large Language Models.

Key responsibilities include embodying an integrated WPP Media approach, fostering collaboration across client teams, practices, solutions, and technology teams to ensure Total Search functions as a fully integrated component of client offerings. The SVP will lead the implementation of the Total Search strategy for the UK, achieving financial and commercial objectives across Paid Search, Organic Search, and Generative Engine Optimization services. Additionally, the role involves developing and executing talent strategies to attract, retain, and develop top industry capabilities for the practice.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in leading search strategy or related functions at a senior level, with a proven track record of managing large, complex client portfolios. A deep understanding of the evolving search landscape, including AI and Large Language Models, is essential. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop senior leaders, exceptional executive presence, and strong communication skills are also required.
