Staff Software Engineer (Integrations)
At Chainguard, the Partnership Engineering team bridges our internal platform and product teams with the external ecosystem, driving our growth. We develop and maintain integrations that make our products visible, consumable, and verifiable across various partner platforms and tools. This includes integrating with cloud marketplaces such as GCP, AWS, and Azure, collaborating with software vendors to onboard and support Chainguard’s offerings, and ensuring compatibility with vulnerability scanners and observability tools.
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Partnership Engineering team, you will design and develop technical integrations connecting Chainguard products to partner platforms, including cloud marketplaces, vulnerability scanners, and observability providers. You will build and maintain our security advisory system, including schemas, APIs, and data feeds such as OSV and secdb. Additionally, you will own integrations with major cloud platforms, focusing on areas like mirroring, IAM, and proxying, and support a wide array of integration targets to ensure compatibility with security tools.
The ideal candidate has at least 8 years of professional software engineering experience and is comfortable working within a Linux ecosystem. You should demonstrate the ability to thrive in ambiguous problem spaces, take ownership of poorly defined problems, and drive toward effective, scalable solutions. Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform, preferably AWS or Azure, is required, along with experience building APIs and data pipelines, particularly for security data or integrations with third-party systems. Deep knowledge of system architecture and design principles, with the ability to balance trade-offs and influence technical direction, is essential.
Chainguard offers a flexible and remote-first culture, allowing you to work remotely with team meetup opportunities, bi-annual destination summits, and a monthly stipend for coworking spaces, phone, and internet costs. Our approach to equity includes receiving stock options upon hire and promotion, participation in secondary offerings, and a 10-year window to exercise your options. We cover 100% of your health, vision, and dental insurance premiums for you and your dependents, and offer flexible time off to ensure you can recharge and reset. Additionally, we provide 18 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, with the option to use it all at once or throughout your child's first year.
At Chainguard, we are customer-obsessed, focusing on delivering solutions that create value and improve our customers' lives. We have a bias for intentional action, prioritizing, planning, trying things, and failing fast. While we take our work seriously, we don't take ourselves too seriously, enjoying the journey as we solve important problems. We trust each other and assume good intentions, maintaining transparency in decisions to empower team members to make well-informed choices.
